After
31 years of deep suffering, with her hands and feet perspiring intensely,
and wandering at random from clinics in Brazil to clinics abroad,
the journalist Regina Lunkes Diehl born in the South of Brazil (Rio
Grande do Sul) discovered that she had Hyperhydrosis. She underwent
a specific surgery - called sympathectomy - and got healed.Feeling
really happy with it, she started to help people all over Brazil
with this illness and even decided to spread to everybody all her
experience on the book "Suando em bicas", launched by
Editora Nobel during the last Bienal do Livro (Book exposition)
in São Paulo.Regina, who has been living in São Paulo
since 1993, wrote the book as an authobiographic report instructed
by the two greatest experts in the area in Brazil who were responsible
for her surgery : thorax surgeon José Ribas Milanez de Campos
and vascular surgeon Paulo Kauffman , both in São Paulo. The
book includes real stories of another 70 victims of this illness,
describes its embarassing characteristics, gives instructions concerning
the surgery and finally shows a practical guide with questions and
answers. The authoress has made this project her reason to live and
has travelled all over the country giving talks and interviews which
aim at divulging the disease and its healing to the greatest number
possible of people.
